Our Services
Regulator Relations
At River Advisers, building and maintaining relations with regulators is key to serving our clients' objectives. We offer established contacts in many countries globally.
Our approach is to work constructively with decision-makers to achieve the best possible outcomes through early engagement and regular and transparent dialogue. After all, market access is a two-way process — business needs regulatory certainty to inform commercial decisions, while regulators require a certain level of information to do so, especially when it comes to licensing or regulating new services and technologies not explored before.
Navigating global regulatory landscapes
The process of engaging with national regulators ‘correctly’, and following national procedures, often involves certain customs and formalities that are not always explicit, and vary culturally from one country to another. Our experience across regions allows us to open channels to regulators on your behalf, in order to establish the best footing to put before them your exciting technology or service.

We also offer our regulator contacts and relations to help influence policy and regulatory developments in key regional and international forums, such as the ITU in Geneva.
Case study
Navigating regulatory challenges through diplomacy and compromise
River Advisers represented a leading innovator of satellite 5G services in engagement with the regulator of a major Middle Eastern target market.
Engaging closely with the authorities on the ground, we were able to help contribute towards and guide a new approach to enable the client’s planned services deployment and demonstrations to key customers.
This process involved careful negotiation and diplomatic consideration, in order to understand and alleviate any regulator concerns regarding the technical and competition aspects among others, and reach an agreeable compromise across multiple stakeholders locally.
